It’s no secret that the Swedes have an excellent sense of fashion and design, along with a strong eco-conscience. So among other great things that have emerged from this perfect combination, is Stockholm’s unique thrifting culture!

For those unfamiliar with the word, thrift is very simply a lifestyle and consumer culture that doesn’t believe in the concept of ‘waste’. For everything from clothes to shoes to furniture, books, and art, there is a market for pre-loved, and upcycled goods that have been donated, resold, curated from vintage collections, redesigned, and much more.

One has to witness and partake in this culture to truly understand it – so here are Unravelog’s picks for unique thrift stores in Stockholm!

One could chance upon very interesting items in furniture, antiques, books, toys, artwork, vinyl, fashion, kids wear, homeware, and jewellery. This is one of the best places to understand the prevalence of thrift culture in Sweden. One can get here by taking the train from Stockholm Östra (east) station to Täby Kyrkby.
